Tracey's Story
Life...
Currently I work with special needs children as a Respite Worker in their homes, or as an Inclusion Facilitator at their schools. This has been very rewarding for the child, their families and myself. Having been excluded from so much as a child with my own mild special needs, I now get to help these kiddos be included and play with others. Their parents literally fight over having me instead of another worker, because I TRULY care about their kiddos and help to include them, and treat them as a typical child, until it's time to step in with their special needs behaviors. :-)
Graduate of Massage Therapy. I was in Physical Therapy for an injury, and decided to change my career for a job that is both healing for my client, but also for myself as well. There's no greater high than seeing a client's body change, so drastically during massage and bodywork.
My father was killed by a drunk driver before I was born. I had very little contact with that family due to my ex-stepfather. So when I found them again, my sister and I discovered, that all of my aunts and uncles were on their deathbeds. Only one Uncle is still alive, due to receiving a heart transplant four months later. I am very blessed to have had the chance to get to know all of them. Blessed with the time to spend with them, and get to know what my father was like growing up through their eyes.
I'm totally into country music (raised on it). Visiting TN was awesome and I still would love to move back Midwest or east.
I'm not sure why most of you would even be interested in my profile. Seeing that I was very poorly treated by soooooo many classmates. I have forgiven everyone for that, but don't think I have forgotten. The verbal,...Expand for more
mental, and emotional abuse from classmates that didn't even take the time to get to know me was unbelievable. One of the abusers who finally began talking and getting to know me at the end of our senior year. It's amazing what being born with disabilities puts people through. I'm far more than blessed with gaining my eyesight after years of patching and eyeglasses during gradeschool. I'm gifted with sight and far more than that, since all of the other senses become so heightened. So you can better believe, I know most of what everyone was whispering about. I was told by this one abuser, that everyone thought I was conceited, stuck up, a freak with patches, etc. I loved the part about everyone thinking I was too pretty to ask out and that I was dating the deaf guy Russell from my Freshman Algebra class...that was hilarious!!! I never dated anyone until I was 20. So ladies and gentlemen: do not be afraid to ask someone out. They too could very well likely be in the shoes I was. Do your homework or have someone else ask if that someone you're thinking about is in a relationship and then ask them out if they're not!
Anyways, of the few friends I did have in school, they were great and down to earth like I am. I'm very real and honest, loyal, compassionate and very passionate about the things and people I love. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER... IT'S WHAT'S INSIDE THAT MATTERS, AND WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED BY THOSE WILLING TO TAKE A LOOK. Here's a favorite quote of mine by Helen Keller: "THE BEST AND MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS, CANNOT BE SEEN OR TOUCHED. THEY MUST BE FELT WITH THE HEART." I pray that God has blessed everyone & you're living life to the fullest you can. Maybe someday we'll all meet again.
