Traci's Story
I graduated from KHS in 1982, after graduation, went to Hawaii for graduation and then lived in the Philippines for 2 yrs while attending the Univ of Maryland, working & traveling thru out Asia. I traveled to Hong Kong, Korea, China, Japan and thru out the Philippines. Awesome, Wonderful experience. After my father, who was an officer in the Navy, was transferred to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 1984, I went there for a 2 wk vacation and stayed for 6 yrs. Eloped after 6 wks to Jamaica, and have two beautiful daughters one is 23 and a graduate from St Leo Univ., working for a law firm & my other daugther is 20 working for a nursing home as a CNA. That marriage ended after 12 years and I have not wanted to go that route again. There have been proposals but no taker. :) While living in Cuba was fortunate to travel to Grand Cayman, Bahamas, Jamaica many, many times, Puerto Rico, St John & St Croix. est best tasting lobster I have ever eaten. HUGE!
One day in 1982, in one of my senior classes I remember someone talking about colleges and college towns. The one that stood out for years & yrs was Gainesville, Florida and the Gators. No matter where I traveled and what I experienced I always was drawn to Gainesvilee, Fl and the Gators. After my divorce I worked for NationsBank to get paid for financial information to better myself, got what I wanted and left after a year. Met a doctor, became engaged, moved to Gainesville, Fl, left the doctor, and have not looked back. Love Gainesville! Love those Gators! Best part my girls are Gator fans, as well, after overcoming their fathers love of the Hurricanes.
Graduated with Honors in 2002 from Santa Fe College with degrees in business and legal assisting. Bought a house on the golf course and started my own business, to honor my father who died of a brain tumor in 2000.
Everyday is a gift, it is up to us to find the opportunties that are there and to keep a positive attitude. Attitude is everything! Hope you have a great day! :)
