Tracie's Story

First of all...I can always be added via face book...use my full name Tracie Ann Setliff, but you have to tell me you are from Beyer HS, otherwise, I don't usually add people. Growing up so close to Yosemite National Park has kept that love of hiking througout the years. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffe, chocolate, and cnn.com to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Since graduation, I lived another 12 years in Modesto. I then moved to Missouri to take my children back to a better area where they could live in the same small town atmosphere I grew up in outside of Waterford. I also lived in Arkansas and Mississippi for a short time before moving back to Missouri. I guess my roots of living all over the world as an airforce brat stayed with me, having been born in Las Vegas and living in Japan, Nebraska and Phoenix as a child I have also visited more than 30 of the 50 United States as well as Mexico and the US Virgin Islands. I love NFL football and enjoy my cat. Shey are like little grandkids until I have grandchildren of my own. My children have kept me the most humble. Their true unconditional love is amazing to me. Both my children have grown to be wonderful responsible human beings and they are the only heros in my life. I am in awe of their accomplishments. My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be retired and possibly bedridden. I was so completely out of touch with reality ;-). I currently work with IBM...Expand for more
as an office manager. I support 13 busy executives as well. I adore my job and the challenges it brings to my daily life. My best friend would tell you I'm quite silly and very warm, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof and have described me that way, until they got to know me. I share my home with my boyfriend, my cat, Emilyann, and my bf's two champion miniature poodles, Beau and Marie. I have some awards from college (Dean's list and President's list), however, the one award that means the most to me was an award I was given for stage managing a production of Arsenic and Old Lace at our local small town theatre. It was amazing fun and my daughter assisted me backstage. I am much more proud of all the awards my children have accumulated in their life. They are loving generous people who continue to inspire and amaze me. In 10 years, I hope to be happy and satisfied with my life as well as a grandparent. I'm going to get there by continuing to see the glass half-full and strive to be a better person daily. I'm not as shy as I once was. I was so painfully shy growing up, I am not sure many people would even recognize me as the person I have become. My first job was at Beyer HS, where I got paid minimum wage to feed the homeless and the children during the summer break at the Salvation Army across town. What I remember most about it is how rewarding it felt to focus on someone else. That continues to inspire how I live life today.
