Tracy's Story

Life After Highschool, I went to Butte college for 3 semesters studying film and television. I lived at home, and my parents were driving me out of my mind. I was tired of paying all the bills in the household, so I took the fastest train from chico. and joined The US Air Force. I was stationed in Phoenix. It was a cool town. I still played guitar regularly and dreamed of going to Nashville. My best friend Jimmy Simple said He would go with me, be my manager, and split all expenses. Well, in Dec 97' My enlistment was up, my buddy Jimmy flaked on me, and I headed to Nashville alone. I met a girl on the way (in AL), Crystal, who would later be my wife. I Played music every week, lived in a dumpy trailer with my roomates (the mouse-ka-teers), worked in a chain factory, in the grease, making $7 an hour. I made $120 a night playing clubs. After over a year and a half of that, I was tired of just surviving, so I decided to return to the military. The Air Foce would not give anything to smile at, so I joined the army. Army Intelligence! yeah whatever. I was selected for Special Forces after I completed thier 25 day selection couse, But shattered my leg during an airb...Expand for more
orne jump from a C130. My SF carreer was over before it began. So I decided to get out,.. again and try Nashville,... again. I moved to goodlettsville TN, 15 min north of nashville. I played with alot of touring musicians when they were not on the road. I also found a club near the Grand ol' Opry, in which I would wait for the opry to let out, and jam with all those old great fiddle players, steel guitarists, banjo pickers, and colorful tappin' drummers. They like to let loose in these small clubs after a big gig like the opry. I met alot of great people and played alot of those old country songs your grandpa used to listen to. I went to school at the Nashille Auto Diesel College while I played at night. Did a few TV shows, and lots of songwriter nights. Graduated in Sep 06. Got a job offer I could not pass up in Florida, workin' for Caterpillar. I took it, Thats where I am now. I still play guitar, and write songs, waiting for that opportunity to escape to Nashville once again. I dream everynight, that one day, even when I'm 50, I may still have what it takes, to play with the big wigs, hold my own, and be The Rockin'est Cat in the Universe! Thanks for reading.
