Tracy's Story
Life
After graduating high school, I went to PBCC in Lake Worth for two years and got involved with the theatre program. I performed in numerous plays and musicals while there, and even won a Best Actress award in my sophomore year. Shortly after getting my AA degree, I decided to move to New York to pursue my acting career rather than going to a four year college (much to my parents chagrin!). I studied at a prestigious studio in the heart of the theatre district, and did a few off-off-off-off-off-Broadway plays. I lived in Greenwich Village for a couple of years, and then moved to the Upper West Side. It was the first time in my life I was truly on my own, and it was exciting, intimidating and ripped the lid off the world as I had known it. Although it was one of the most difficult times of my life, I wouldnÂt trade the life experiences that living in New York taught me.
After about 3½ years of trying to make it on Broadway, I decided to move to Los Angeles where some friends from college were living in a house in the hills. I packed my bags and headed west in April of 1994  3 months after the infamous Northridge earthquake rocked much of the sprawling city. In the 12 years (gulp!) that IÂve lived here, IÂve continued to pursue my acting career on stage, have been on tv (although if you blinked, you might have missed me!), continued writing short stories, magazine articles, unfinished movie scripts, and even had some poetry published. In my personal life, IÂve had my share of ups and dow...Expand for more
ns in relationships and life, as IÂm sure most of you have had as well. I gave up acting for awhile and concentrated more on my writing, and even dabbled in photography and journalism for a bit. But, before long, I found myself longing to be onstage again and, as harrowing as this profession can sometimes be, realized that there are some things in life we have absolutely no choice about. Acting chose me just as surely as I chose it  itÂs been a mutual love affair.
Currently, I live in Venice, California in a small bungalow by the beach. I am involved in a classical theatre group, the International Classical Acting Project, which is going to Germany to perform in two separate festivals. I just finished playing Cressida in ShakespeareÂs ÂTroilus and CressidaÂ, and am in rehearsals for a dark French play, ÂThe MaidsÂ. In my personal life, I have been involved with someone for several years who is also an actor/writer/director and just completed his first short film, which he wrote and directed. It is now being submitted to festivals, so hopefully it will be making the festival circuit this year or next.
Other than that  I have a job outside of the theatre to pay the bills. ItÂs not all that exciting, but it pays well and I have a great view of Santa Monica beach and the Pacific Ocean. In my free time, I go to movies and plays, out to dinner with friends, or to museums and exhibits. I have a pretty healthy and active lifestyle  I take yoga, meditate and work out at the gym regularly.
