Tracy Langevin's Story
Life
I am the mother of two boys, Nicolas and Tyler, who are the light of my life!! I always had big dreams of moving out of Michigan, however, that never quite seemed to pan out and here I am still in Davison! After graduating from college, I worked as a Substance Abuse Therapist for several years at Insight Recovery Center and Genesys Center for Addiction Treatment. A challenging job to say the least! After that I was a stay at home mom for 2 1/2 years. That was definately the best job I ever had! However, divorce happens, and it was back to an office for me! I then went back to work as a counselor at REACH Shelter for Runaways in Flint. I now work for the State of Michigan as a Protective Services Worker. It is generally a thankless job, as you can imagine, but just when you are ready to chuck it, something happens that makes you feel like you actually make a difference. I am currently in the process of getting used to the idea of being single again. Divorce is never fun, but it certainly helps you build character and in the end, I believe I will become a wiser, better person because of it.
School
Would I do it again? No way. I got through it once with the majority of my mental health intact. That is good enough for me....
The one thing I really remember about high school was thinking "She/he really can't think they are that great..." Enough said. I was glad to see at the reunion that had changed for many. ...Expand for more
I also remember being painfully shy, a trait that I still struggle with, although I like to think I hide it well....
I am sure I had plenty of crushes throughout the years, but none that I can say really stick out in the memory banks...I remember that I really tended to shy away from Davison guys though and always dated guys from other schools.
Regrets, yeah, I have a few....The biggest one would have to be wasting my senior year on that psycho boyfriend I thought I could not live without!
I am currently reliving the "joy" of high school through my oldest son, who currently attends DHS...ugh!
College
College was a blur of late nights, No Doze, parties and petty jobs that seemed really important at the time! I have to admit though, I made alot of great friends, had alot of fun. I would do it again if I could and hope that I might correct some of the mistakes of youth that I made back then!
Workplace
The government. Not too many nice things to say about that....We kindly refer to this county as the armpit of the state and believe me, that is being kind...Well at least I get discounted hotel rooms on those rare vacations...
I do have to say though that I have been saddened over the years to have run into past classmates in the capacity of my jobs, past and present. That always makes for a less than comfortable reunion....
Military
No military experience, but I have the utmost respect for all those who have served this country!
