Tracy's Story
October 2008 - thought I'd update my "story" since it's been about 3 and a half years since the last update!
Well, guess what? Despite the predictions way-back-when, I am still alive and kickin'. I work a graphic designer at a Baltimore hospital [yes, hospitals have designers]. I've been there for a looong time now. I also moonlight as a respite specialist for children with severe emotional and behavioral needs [a little different than design]. I love what I do [most days].
Besides work, I really enjoy volunteering - both as a mentor and as an art therapist for children with psychiatric disorders. It's an awesome way to balance work/life; I'm always learning new things and get to be as creative and/or wacky as I want. I am a big advocate for children in poverty and I have...Expand for more
several sponsored children. Believe it or not, writing to all my children and keeping up with their letters can be time-consuming.
Any remaining free time is mostly spent taking care of the house [you know... trying to keep the dishes clean, moving laundry from the bed to the the floor and back, keeping up with a bulimic cat, etc]. I like to garden but hate to mow. I spend a ridiculous amount of time with my sister, Monica - my best friend. I enjoy having my family around while they are still near, so we do things together when we can. Mainly, I take turns stopping at their homes and eating their food. Well, they invite me. Really. I never cook and keep a bachelor's fridge. Um... what else? Oh! I like to take naps. It's a great time-filler when you are avoiding cleaning.
