Tracy's Story

Since high school, I've tried to keep busy and active. In college I played rugby and now I play for the Portland Shockwave-the Portland women's pro football team. It is so much fun. I'm just getting ready to start my 8th season. Nothing relieves stress better than knocking someone to the ground legally. For work, I taught high school in a town smaller than Ridgefield right after college. After my dad died I moved closer to home and taught English and art at Camas high school for a couple of years. Needing a change, I went in a totally different direction for seven years and managed a retail merchandising company. I did a lot of traveling for that job and even moved to Colorado for a year. ee in education I started looking for another teaching job. Now I help schools raise coho salmon in giant tanks inside their classrooms. I get to do fish dissections as part of the education I provide. Kids are such a hoot when they get around innards. One kid tried to take a trout heart home in his pocket to show his mom. I've definitely learned more in the past year than I could've imagined. I guess you would call me an environmental educator., but I still shave my legs and believe in capitalism. No kids yet, but I have house in Vancouver,a great partner, two grumpy cats, a silly dog, and a giant garden. Drop me a line if you have time. I'm always glad to hear from anyone who made it through growing up in Ridgefield.
