Tracy's Story
Life
Updated on August 2, 2021. I medically retired from the military (Air National Guard) in December 2018 at the rank of Colonel. At the same time, I also retired from my civilian federal government employment (It's nice to be receiving a retirement check every month). I began working at the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs as their HR Director. We moved north a few miles (still in Edmond (Just east of Broadway, off of Covell). We have been blessed with 2 grandchildren, Sage (my little red-headed girl) was born January 2019 and Daniel (Curly Dan or Dano) in May 2020. My kids are now 22 and 17. My son, Dustin starts his senior year at Edmond North this month. Robin, my wife, is retired from the State of Oklahoma and spends most of her time raising our grandchildren. Robin and I celebrated 27 years of marriage in May. I finally decided to get in touch with more of my high school classmates and actually attended the 35th Reunion (amazing because my anxiety issues...Expand for more
(plus others, thanks to 27 years in the service, included stints, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Central America, South America, as well as involvement in the Murrah Bombing Recovery and conducting missions on and after 9-11, etc)generally keep me from large crowds and cramped spaces). Looking forward, I have my sights set on retiring from the State of Oklahoma in April 2024 at 57 years old. Life is good.
As of early 2007, my wife and I have two children (a daughter, Adessa, age 7 and a son, Dustin, age 3). I was promoted to Lt Col (Full-Time Air National Guard) in 2004 and still fly as a Navigator on the C-130H Tactical Transport Aircraft. I spent most of 2003 living in Saudi, Qatar and Iraq and just returned from a tour in Afghanistan in May 06. We have lived in Edmond for the past twelve years. Due to the recent BRAC announcements, I am transitioning to a new career as an Internal Auditor for the National Guard in Oklahoma City. I also recently began working on an MBA. Go Pokes!
