I'm a Presbyterian pastor, and i live in the very small mountain town of Coeburn, VA, north of Tri-Cities, TN. I was ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP), but i serve a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) congregation.
I married Angela, my girlfriend in high school (though, she was a bit older than i and in the Army at the time). We've been married for seven years as of January 2006. We have on child, LilliAna, who is two, and another on the way.
College
I attended North Greenville College (now North Greenville University) in Tigerville, SC, from which i graduated in May 02 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Theology. While i was in college, i served as youth pastor at a small church not far from Tigerville (my dad had pastored the church while i was an infant and again over the last few years).
After i graduated from North Greenville, i went directly to Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, SC. In December ...Expand for more
of 04, i graduated, earning a Master of Divinity. When i did this, i joined the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. This gave me the opportunity to serve lots of small ARP churches that had no pastor. They certainly didn't have many people in these churches, but it was a very fulfilling time; even people in those small churches need to be ministered to and taught God's Word.
Workplace
In August of 2005, i was ordained as a minister in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP), but i took a pastorate in the Prebyterian Church in America (PCA).
The church i'm serving in is a small congregation (around 35 active members) in the small mountain town of Coeburn, VA. We're the only Presbyterians in town, and of the three total Presbyterian congregations in our county (Wise County), ours is the only congregation in a conservative denomination. This is Free Will Baptist and Pentecostal territory. :-) At any rate, it's going pretty well, on the whole. Just trying to teach and preach the truth, and praying that the Lord will give the increase.
