Patti's Story

After nearly 20 years in the Memphis, TN area, I have moved back to my old Northern Ohio stomping grounds. My kiddos are grown: 24, 26, and 28. My daughter (my youngest) is in Florida on a journey of sobriety, of which I am tremendously proud. My 26-year old son works for Apple as a chat tech advisor. My 28-year old son has just moved to Baltimore for a job with Control Cable. He's engaged, planning to get married in October. (He didn't get married. They kept postponing.) I have retired from teaching my precious babies at an inner-city school in Memphis. By the time I finished, I'd taught every grade K through 8, Science, English, and history. It wasn't without challenges, but I especially loved teaching Science. I really miss working with the kids. I really thought I would have all kinds of free time. ack in Northern Ohio with the love of my life from days of old, Dale Adams. I'm amending this in September of 2018. My oldest son, Jonathan, passed away unexpectedly in November of 2017 at the age of 30. No parent should ever endure the passing of a child. 2026 Update In 2021, my mom and I moved back to Memphis after the passing of my dad and my husband. I bought a house and my son lived with me also. In 2022, my mom passed away. In 2023 my dog, Pong, who was 16, passed away. He had been my companion and support puppy through a lot of grief. In 2024, my middle son David, who had tremendous health challenges his entire life passed away. Because of my own health challenges, I sold my house in Memphis and moved to Florida. I now live with my daughter and her family there in Port St. Lucie. I love living there with my three grandchildren! The fun is going to start soon as we are building an addition on my daughter’s house!
