Trisha's Story
I would have been in the class of 1986 at Dublin (my sister Sheri graduated in 1984), but moved in the middle of our sophomore year, 1984, to Georgia. High school was tough, for me; I was involved in many activities, but never really felt like I "belonged" to any one group.
Life has been interesting. I have a degree in environmental analysis from UC Irvine, which I never got to use, because the EPA had a hiring freeze when I graduated! Needing a job, I went to the Office of Personnel Management in Columbus, and ended up working for Social Security, making disability decisions. I fell in love with it, but hated the bureaucracy. I've had my own practice for several years, getting to do things my way, and having a commute that consists of walking downstairs (can't beat that!). Unless I have a hearing, I'm usually in shorts or sweats--can't beat that, either!

e two sons, the oldes about to graduate from high school (YIKES). I enjoy playing tennis, traveling (but don't fly comfortably...unless Heineken is involved), don't sleep as much as I would like, and enjoy chocolate anything (probably, a little too much). I'm a member (and former board member) of the National Association of Disability Representatives, for which I train and mentor other representatives, primarily through our seminars and publications. I was privileged to be interviewed for a CBS evening news story about the horrible delays in the disability process, in January of 2008. I'm not very politically active--I have very little filter remaining between brain and mouth--but try to be a voice for the disabled.
Most of my family is completely insane; I have no idea how I turned out so (relatively) normal and healthy! Curiousity has driven me to attempt to reconnect with old friends; I love finding out how lives have evolved.
