Tyler Mark's Story
Tyler Mark (Red) Taylor:
I left Jayton to attend Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, the fall of 1965,
Dad died in January 1967,
Anita and I got married in April 1969. We both worked while I continued school,
Anita was pregnant and we both lost our jobs in fall of 1971,
Moved to Howe, North of Dallas,
Trish was born in Sherman in January 1972,
Worked various jobs around Sherman until I enlisted in the Army, for Warrant Officer Flight School in February 1973,
Fort Polk, Louisiana for basic training,
Fort Wolters, Texas for primary helicopter pilot course,
Fort Rucker, Alabama for advanced helicopter pilot course,
Tyler was born at Fort Rucker in January 1974,
Graduated WORWAC as a Warrant Officer 1st class in March 1974,
Fort Hood, Texas flying UH-1 and OH-58 helicopters in the air cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division and 3rd Corps,
Todd was born at Fort Hood in June 1976,
Fort Rucker for CH-47 qualification course,
Camp Humphreys, Korea flew CH-47C helicopters as CW2,
Fort Hood, Texas Anita and the kids stayed there for my short tour, then I returned driving CH-47C helicopters up to CW3, direct appointment to 1st Lieutenant December 1980,
Fort Eustis, Virginia for Aviation Maintenance Officer Course with Fort Rucker for Maintenance Test Pilot course,

Fort Eustis for Transportation Corps Officer Advanced Course 1984,

Flew Bell 206L helicopters to offshore oilfields for Petroleum Helicopters, Inc.,
Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia flying UH-1, OH58, and C-47D helicopters as a civilian contract test pilot,
Stuttgart, Germany as a UH-60 contract civilian helicopter mechanic,
Sold real estate a while,
Fort Bragg, North Carolina contract civilian helicopter mechanic,
Soto Cano AFB, Honduras, Captain Maintenance Officer and Test Pilot for UH-1 and OH-58 helicopters in Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize,
20 year retired rank of Major February 1994.
Worked as industrial machine mechanic in Dallas area, diesel fuel injection pumps, plastic extrusion equipment, making plastic cups and then trash bags,
Moved to Bedford 2005, Retired July 2009. Life is good. What a ride. Still peddling as fast as I can.
