Tyus Nedd:  

Tyus Nedd was raised by his grandmother in a project in Clairton, Pennsylvania. Early in life Tyus used basketball and his brain to escape his environment. His dedication and persistence landed him a full athletic scholarship to the University of Massachusetts to play basketball. After college, Tyus moved to Washington, D. C. where he was reunited with his father, and he became a member of Evangel Temple, where he served children and youth. One of the key turning points in Tyus¿ life was when he met and developed a relationship with Bishop John Meares, who turned his whole life around. This white-skinned, silver-haired man became a model and inspiration to Tyus by the way he led people with care, concern and respect. After a period of six years Tyus embarked on the next chapter of his life after learning many lessons under the tutelage of Bishop Meares. This next chapter led Tyus to Columbus, Ohio to work as a computer engineer for NCR. Tyus became an elder at Rhema Christian Center and pastor of youth for New Generation, Rhema Christian Center¿s youth ministry.
