Valarie's Story

Life I was born in Chicago, IL. We moved to rual AR in 1958 where we picked cotton and farmed. I went to Wyman Ele. from 6th to 8th. We lived l block from Cardinal Glennon. Folsom Ave. is just a giant parking lot now. I've been a Cardianl far as far back as I can remember. The sound of Harry Carey and Jack Buck on the radio in the heat of a summer night as I fell asleep is unforgettable. Does anyone else remember the free straight A student tickets we use to get to Cardinal games? I have been a teacher since 1978. I was injured 3 years ago and have not returned to the teaching profession. I look forward to returning to work, soon. I own half of a Cessna Skyhawk 172. I am a student pilot. We enjoy flying down to the Keys or over to the islands for an extended weekend. My husband is a pilot. We both enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling. I learned how to dive after snorkeling in Andros. ime underwater with the neon colored fish than my limited swimming ability would allow. The accident has curtailed my diving and flying my skyhawk 172. My husband Bill, golden retriever,"Sonnyboy", and cats "Ace, Blue and Lady", live at Sunniland Ranch in Okeechobee, Florida. Sunniland is also a private airport (08FD) and arial application business. I enjoy watching planes fly when I can't fly. My son is going to School in TN. But lives close by when school is out. My stepson, wife and grandsons live near us. The things I've done seem small when compared to my dreams of long ago. I wanted to make a difference. I do not trust the Republican party any more than I did in Nixon's time. I think a reality shows are the dregs of TV. I read more than ever, still listen to rock and roll. (Nelly is pretty good.) When I visit St. Louis I remember..... some really good times, places, events and people.
