Valerie's Story
Well, I just turned 56 and I'm busier and happier than I've ever been in my life. I have two daughters, 15 and 18, and am still married to my high school sweetheart (almost 37 years - YIKES!). I work as a school nurse and love it. I enjoy reading good books, walking, talking with friends, and of course spending time with my family. I have two crazy dogs and a very full life. I live in Bellevue, WA (near Seattle) in a house with plenty of room and very close to a lake which we can see from our back deck. I have the day off from school/work.
It's funny thinking back to high school days - I was so different then compared to now....I was shy, awkward, unsure of myself, the usual for many kids. Now I am funny, outgoing, outspoken but polite and kind, and I love working with all ages of people, from preschoolers to seniors. I am very fortunate to have lived long enough to feel that I've come into my own and am happy as a person. I feel very productive, I help lots of students and their families, I have a few very close friends (which is all I need).
