Valerie's Story
Hi everybody who visits this site. I am taking a chance for one year to hear from anyone who is interested in the Valerie Merrill(Snyder) bio. HA HA.
Amazing that I now live in Palm Beach Gardens,Fl with my husband Charleis and my very old 16 year old Shih Tzu Priscilla. I remember life in Merrick when it was a very small, village and later on. I became a Social Studies teacher in Bellmore-Merrick CHSD and had a very interesting career in which I loved the actual teaching, but not the horrendous political atmosphere which still exists. I could write a book, and am seriously contemplating exposing all I know....My family still owns the land across from the Gables Theater (which is now a bank) and a Mepham grad bought my family home which I bought at 37 East Loines Avenue when I was first married turning it into the Merrick...Expand for more
Woods eyesore. I am totally horrified by what it looks like. I still fondly remember Merrick at its best including the Palms hangout and Mindells across from Chatterton, walking along Merrick Ave. and going to Kelso's Pharmacy ( I am still in contact with Susie and her mom) and being able to cross Sunrise without fear. Also going to the wonderful old Merrick Library to hide out and read, visit my grandparents on Frankel BLvd. and then walking to my dad's business across from the Gables. Going movies there and later bowling was so fun. Of course, for Luther Leaguers, remember Pastor Moser and our fun times there. Fondly remember Jeanette Anderson, Elaine Christensen, Ginny Gebhardt, Betty Manzo, Susie Kelso, my cousin Sandy Marschall, and other people who I remember fondly. Please contact if interested.
