Vandy's Story

Life Hi Everyone, That is if anyone remembers me. I moved so much when in high school it seems very few people really got to know me. Well my life continued that way when I married a Navy Officer. We lived in California, Hawaii and Washington. I worked in Banking, Mortgages and even a stint at the Oregon Treasury. Of course over the years I have been involved with many great orginization and charities as a volunteer. Not to mention my kids schools and scouts. After my first marraige ended I married a guy from Oregon. I figured I had spent half my life in Washington and half in California of course I would split the difference and live in Oregon. That lasted about 5 years until my husband got a job in Oklahoma. At first I thought he was nuts. After living apart for 6 months I made the move to Oklahoma in June of 2005 and love it. We live in a small town in the Oklahoma panhandle. I know sounds too out there but I do love it. I have spent most of my time here fixing up our early 1900 farm house. I am a nut for interior decorating. I also do leather working and most needle crafts. I make wonderful quilts and spend a lot of time volunteering. I need to fill my life since my husband is out in the field...Expand for more
a lot as a geologist for the oil fields. My two children are almost grown. Jacob my oldest is in college in Oregon. Looks like my daughter Caitlin will be going to college in Kansas next year. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and love life. It is amazing how I never could have guessed how my life would unfold. God knows better than we do. And to all those in the advance dance group with me at Bell Gardens in 1978. Thank you for putting up with me. Odviously you saw something at aditions that I didn't know I had. It took 20 years to stop trying to get it right, get comfortable with myself and go with the music. You wouldn't recognize me out there on the dance floor now. THose of you who knew me at Lakewood High, expecially in speech and radio/Tv may be suprised to know that I actually did become a DJ for a country radio station in Oregon. I have even given a sermon. A long way from that girl who couldn't give a speach with out hyperventalating. For those who knew me at Bell Flower High, I did finally learn how to type. The spelling and puncuation still needs a lot of work. I hate taking my picture so I am always the photographer. I will try to find picture of me and up load it soon. Take care, Vandy
