Velma's Story
I am married to Hector Perez who I met at UT Austin. We lived in Iowa, San Antonio, and Austin. We both received our doctorates at UT Austin. He is an English professor and is an associate professor at the University of Incarnate Word and will become a full professor this fall 2015.

I obtained a Masters in Bilingual Special Education, finally I obtained a doctorate in education from UT Austin. I was an assistant professor the School of Education at University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio,Texas.
I have two grown up sons. One is a lawyer in Dallas and my youngest just graduated from the University of Incarnate Word with a BS in kinesiology.
I am now living in Austin and have been teaching on line.
