Verda's Story

Married high school sweetheart, Paul Foster - class of '67, in 11/70. Had first child, Jeremy, in 1974. Daughter, Carrie, was born in 1976. We raised our family in the San Fernando Valley. Verda worked as a school counselor in Woodland Hills; Paul worked at Chevron and retired after 27 years. After daughter got married in 2002, Paul and Verda, decided to leave the city and move out to the country, near my sister, Ginny, in the San Juaquin Valley. Just 2 hours N of LA. We have a little 4 acre Ranchette. My son has been living in a subarb of Dallas for about 10 years. My daughter gave birth to twin boys in 2005. Naturally, Paul and I are delighted and involved grandparents. Paul and I became Realtors in 2004. Best RE deals in all CA can be found in Tulare County. life as Realtors/country folk. So much to do out here -- county fairs, Rodeo's, local casinos (which we don't frequent), local wineries w/ events every 2-4 weeks, little hole-in-the-wall restaurants w/ home town cooking. Great places for us to ride on Paul's Harley. Too many wonderful things to do to mention. Want to move out of the city but don't want to leave CA? Contact me. My oldest friend is Nola Judge Strnad. We were toddlers together,went to Kindergarten together, and graduated high school together. She now lives near me and we are in garden club together, members of the same wineries, ride Harleys w/ our husbands, do lunch & shopping. We click because she is quirky and I am too serious at times (I'm working on it) and we have been lucky in life and love. She makes me laugh and scratch my head in disbelief w/ some of the stuff she comes up with. I think we will probably end up in the old folks home together when we reach 100.
