Verna's Story
After graduation from Fike, I went to East Carolina University, received my B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration. I could not buy a job in Wilson, so I enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. Loved it, stayed 4 years. I was stationed in Millington, TN, right outside of Memphis. Then moved to Durham, NC. olina Central University, graduated with honors with a Masters in Information Science. Moved back Wilson in 1999, taught computer information system courses at Wilson Tech, Nash Tech, Edgecombe community college, Barton College, NC Wesleyan College, St. Augustine's College, Shaw University and Peace College in Raleigh.
Now I am back in Durham, NC working full-time as a Computer Education Instructor at Vance-Granville Community college.
