Vernon's Story
Life
Well it started out pretty simple but the foundation was laid on solid ground.
In High School pratically a nobody.
Played Tennis. Had "just above" average grades. I was just one of those who was there but not really noticed.
After doing one year at the Univ. of Maryland, switched majors from Computer Science to Theology and Music.....in a North Carolina private college...go figure.
After completion and being the first black male Church Music major to graduate from this school (was in North Carolina..what were you thinking), you all know how the South can be, right? I had had enough of the church organization and all the madness that goes along with it, as we all know, so I moved on to Europe.
As fate would have it I got a chance to visit Europe and just stayed. Call me crazy but somehow, it is here that I really got the chance to know what I was/am made of.
It was here in Germany where life took on hyperspeed and greater challanges arose which brought out things in me that I would have probably never have done or accomplished in my own homeland.
There were the studies of Programing and Computer Administration, the German language, discovering my talents in singing and songwriting which lead to releases with major record companies, and w...Expand for more
hat's most important...the love for SQUASH and the love of myself.
So, I am now 43 going on 60.
May all the forces be with those whom read this.
School
Let's see..this is a hard on.
There was Doswell E. Brook Elem.
Then there was Lucky Jr. High
and then Crossland ...I believe.
Workplace
Worked in the management field, during my college years, part-time at UPS in Charlotte N.C. After graduation moved to Europe where I began to used the skill learned at East Coast Bible College and worked within the professional music industry as an Artist and Songwriter which I still do in my spare time.
In Parallel, worked for UPS in Europe, also within the area of management and training. Thereafter, took courses in the areas of business, computer programing and the German language.
After completion, worked as a programmer for 3 years and then later self-employed as an independent music A&R for 1 year.
Wanting to move on in the computer industry, I attended more courses. After completion, began to work as a consultant in the area of SAP software. My first assignment was directly at the Software producer itself...what luck. Two years, thereafter I began to work as an "internal" employee for the company which I am currently still working for.
