Vicki's Story
Life
Hi, Everyone. I have been married for 32 years (in 2007) to Bob Fitzgerald. We live in Carrollton but I work in Arlington. Bob and I have two sons: Michael and Devin. Michael is an astrophysicist living in California. He is married to a psychiatrist. Our youngest, Devin, is in veterinary school and scheduled to graduate in 2008. No grandchildren yet. Now that we are empty nesters Bob and I love to travel. For fun I take French lessons--trying to improve my conversational skills.
School
I enjoyed my years at SHHS very much and count myself lucky to have had some many wonderful classmates. I moved to Germany after 7th grade at Ferguson. I moved back to Arlington and SHHS in my sophomore year. I still miss Valorie Cole (she died about 28 years ago) every single day.
College

went to Texas Woman's University and graduated in 1974 with a bachelors in Nursing. I've done a bit of grad school here and there but with raising a family seemed to put that on hold. Now that I could go back I'd rather take classes in things I've always wanted to do or learn.
Workplace
I have been a legal nurse consultant/medical forensic analyst for the past 12 years. I was an emergency department nurse for 27 years and just quit that job in August 2006 (I was working on the weekends after I started my legal nurse career--trying to keep up my clinical skills). Now I keep up my skills by working on the weekends at a surgery center in Dallas. The pace is much less hectic than the ER and I still get to do hands on nursing. Both of our boys went to out of state colleges so having that weekend job has been a blessing!
