Vicki's Story
Hello everyone out there! My life story for the last 30 years? (easy, sshmesy! ....you got to be kidding, right? In 100 words or less?)Uhm,let's see...I tried college-again ,and again and AGAIN-turns out you gotta want it bad enough and be mature enough to succeed!I guess I lacked either (or both?!).I stopped just short of getting that piece of paper (you know, the one that says'diploma' on it??!!)Then I tried marriage and babies-which I had more success at....well,the marriage thing worked for 10 years, and the baby thing I succeeded at 3 times and am still enjoying the "fruits of my labor',(literally)! Then I went back to school, this time with plenty of determination and plenty of maturity(the kind that having 3 kids will give you!) And wa-la! It worked this time, single mom and all! Then after a 4 year respite from the institution of marriage,I decided to give it another try;only this time with a couple of step kids added (yep, ALMOST making us the Brady Bunch!).I am now almost 10 years into marriage #2,and I...Expand for more
think I got it right this time! (Considering I got a major head injury just 8 weeks into this marriage, and have more then enough deficits to try to navigate my way around every day because it this 'event'!)
Okay, what would a life story be without a little 'bragging section',huh?!So,here goes...I wrote a Children's book that got published about a mom that gets a brain injury, and how a child learns to cope with the changes she/he sees in their parent.(Based on my own experience,of course!)There is lots of links to the book, plus various poems I have also gotten published, regarding my brain injury.Just google 'Vicki Sue Parker",or "Vicki Parker",(If you ever get bored enough AND have nothing else better to do!)and most of the links will come up!
I hope everyone who is still reading this,(as I drone on and on),knows that they deserve an award for their patience, and a heart-felt 'Take care' from me ,to you,out there in cyberworld!
See you guys at the reunion...well,maybe not...maybe..I can't make up my mind!
