Vicki's Story

Life: My Pets So much for the cat, he moved out as soon as I got a puppy. So now Khloe, who is a yorkie-jack-apoo, now runs my life. My Kids I have 5 grown children, Stephanie, Ronica, Becki, Trisha and Danny. Along with them I have 8 grandchildren, Kiersten, Dylan, Lance, Brie, Kayla, Quincy, Tehya, and Colton. My Job I no longer work for Trinity County Office of Education. I retired December, 2009. Retirement lasted an entire year and now I work part time for Silverado Mortgage Company, in Redding. That means no more driviing up and down the mountain. But, the sad thing is I miss all my friends and family who are still in Trinity County. I hope my old friends will be remember how much I have always cared about them. I've changed my idea of what I wanted to be when I "grew up". While in high school what I really wanted to be was an airline stewardess. But for those who remember me, I'm short. Obviously, at the time too short to be a stewardess. Now of course they have changed that requirement. I believe it was discrimatory to tell someone they couldn't do the job because they were too short. Oh well, if only I was younger. LOL A nice bottle of wine, a relaxing hot tub, candles. If anyone remembers me at all, they know I didn't do wild things in school. Craziest thing I did was hang out a car window on the highway to Santa Cruz and pull a large orange cone in through the window. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, possible a piece of dark chocolate, and a great staff to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero would be my grandmother, Kay. She always listened. She always said to be who I wanted to be, not what others wanted me to become. I've lived all over California, parts of Oregon, Washington, and even in Ohio. Yuck! Most recently, I've lived in Northern California, in Redding, and before that in a small, rural community of Weaverville. Population 3500. I...Expand for more
moved because my stepdad was in the Navy and that's what we did. I moved up north because that's where my former husband's family lived. I've stayed up here because my children and their families are here. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Rich Wade, because he could have been the love of my life.. I love going to basketball games and baseball games. I love LOST, Survivor, and cooking shows. The biggest surprise in my life has been.....not being with who I thought I would end up with. But also, that I can make it through most anything that happens to me on my own. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a large family room. My dream home would be open to all. I've learned a lot of bad words. I've also learned to respect them for who they have become. I've learned to have fun with them and that we are friends. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on travel, my children and home. To be truly happy I would live in So. Cal, on the ocean, working, and being with the one special person. And being able to travel to see my children anytime I needed to. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be almost dead. I was so completely misinformed. My best friend would tell you I'm bossy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as outgoing. A do-over, hum....pay attention to whom I married. In 10 years, I hope to be retired and alive. I'm going to get there by taking care of myself. My best friend, Ann Fox Lee. We met on the school bus (at least I think so), we were both military brats. We have remained friends ever since. I believe everyone at the high school reunion would be surprised by how many times I've been married. My first job was at The Pancake House, where I got paid very little to wash dishes. What I remember most about it is how heavy dirty dishes were.
