Vicki's Story
Life
I have two children, Katherine Elizabeth Peterson, 28 years old and Rebekah Zane Steckel, 10 years old. I am married to Robert Steckel and I am currently living in Allentown, PA. We have one dog, Gizmo, and he is a 5 year old Shihtzu. I hang out at the house and play games on the computer in Club Pogo (AOL sponsored). I am also very active in a grassroots organization called ACORN. We have been instrumental in raising the minimum wage here in Pennsylvania and campaigned nationwide to raise the federal minimum wage. I also love looking up old classmates and finding out what they have been up to. Please let me hear from you. I am also doing family research on my husband's family and doing his family tree. I am also involved in the fight to abolish the Death Penalty because it has affected my husband's life considerably because his brother was executed in Delaware. In March, our first grandchild was born. His name is Riley.
School
The person I had the biggest crush on already knows that I did. The teacher that most inspired me was Ms. Nora Sink, my 8th and 9th grade English teacher. I enjoyed my high school years and enjoyed my friends.

Workplace
After I graduated High school, I joined the US Army. After I got out, I moved to Florida and I started working for Wolf Brothers (Men's & Women's Clothing Store). I worked there for two years and then I started working for the Florida Army National Guard in the Operations and Training area. I worked for University of South Florida from 1988 to 1996. Now I am a full-time mother and housewife taking care of our 10 year old, Rebekah.
Military
I joined the US Army in October 1978, took Basic Training at Ft. Dix NJ and my AIT at Ft. Devens MA and Ft. Gordon, GA and was permanently assigned to Ft. Monroe, VA. and stayed in until January 1980. I then became a member of the 2174th Army Garrison Reserve Unit in Martinsville and then I moved to Florida where I joined the Florida Army National Guard in 1982 and remained a member until 1988 when I was Honorably Discharged. I was in the communication field and then when I worked full time from 1985 to 1987 in the Operations and Training Area.
