Vicki's Story
PLEASE NOTE - Please visit and join the Facebook group "Omaha Westside High School Class of 1975". Plans are in the works for our 40-yr reunion sometime in 2015. But we need your help to locate and contact over 200 of our former classmates who are "Missing", according to the records maintained in the Alumni office. This site does not allow for free messages, so if you're not on Facebook, please send me an email-

Since 1997, I've lived in southern California, a place I **NEVER** wanted to live until I met (and later married), a lifelong Californian who shared my passion for the sport of dogs, Brittanys in particular. Together, we started with five (3 were his, 2 were mine) and though all those wonderful dogs are gone now, over the years we've bred, loved, owned, raised, trained, hunted, and competed in shows and field trials throughout California, Arizona, and the Midwest with over 20 amazing Brittanys.
We've known the thrill of that "once in a lifetime" dog that exceeded all hopes and expectations, when our 6-yr old "Bernie" was ranked #1 by the AKC in 2004, for the most Champion poin...Expand for more
ts won by any of the pointing breed dogs in AKC Field competition. (He was also the #2 Brittany in 2002, and #1 Brittany in '03 and '04.)
Bernie went on to become a popular stud dog, with offspring all over the US. FC/AFC Shiloh's Blazin Tri'd N Tru is the only tri-colored AKC field titled **and** American Field Champion Brittany in the history of the breed. Right now we have two Bernie daughters, "Jada" a 4 yr old Show Champion, and 2 yr old tri-color "Jodi", hoping to become a member of the elite "Tri-color Champions" club.
We also have 9-yr old Kandy and her 5-yr old son, both Champions. And just recently added an "outsider" to the family, a male from a breeder in Colorado, completely unrelated to any dog we've bred for the last 20 years. As outstanding as Bernie was in field competition, this new puppy is bred for SHOW competition. As you can guess, we like to win, but the real joy of all this dog stuff is the ever expanding network of friends we've made with others who share our passion for the Brittany.
That's enough for now, if there's any evidence there are people actually reading this, I will add more later.
Would love to hear from my fellow WHS graduates, of any year!
