Vicki's Story
Hello old friends! Been some years since I put my story here and life changes. Short update! Still living in
British Columbia, and still wishing I was back in Utah. I moved here in 1973, when I married a Canadian I
met at BYU (of course...). I have 5 children, 2 girls who are married, 3 sons. One divorced and 2 still with me.
My middle son has Down Syndrome so he will be with me as long as I'm still here. Also have 4 grandchildren
ages 4 to 25. All live close by and are very close to each other. I was really getting into exercise and
being fit in 2011, lost a lot of weight, and then in Dec. had a diabetic stroke. Life changing!
Following my stroke (and many smaller strokes) I had a pacemaker im...Expand for more
planted. Still have a lot of chronic
health problems, but I try my best to get up everyday and tell myself all is well, and carry on. Very
active in the LDS church and I love it here with smaller, more intimate wards. Our Vancouver temple is
about 10 mins down the road from me and I go there often. We clean our own temple here, so I am our
ward coordinator for temple cleaning, and a visiting teaching supervisor, and I teach the 4th Sunday
conference lessons in Relief Society. Love doing that! Family, church and friends pretty much take up my
time. Missing Utah terribly. Hope to be well enough to come back soon. Love to hear from any of you!
