Victor "Dee"'s Story
We have retired and moved to our home in Texas. After 10 years in Chicago we have made the move to a warmer climate. Our home in Nacogdoches was waiting for us. The lake house in Kansas was fun in the summer but the winters were too long and cold. Since our children and grandchildren are scattered from Tucson, Denver and Sweden its hard to find a place close to everyone. Here we are close to airports, golf, and cities with all the features we could ever want.
We are in the new x-urbia, where we are close enough to have the positive features of city life, and far enough to have a peaceful lifestyle. One of my students here at Stephen F Austin once asked me if we stayed here in the summer time. I told her that indeed we did and it was actually very peaceful in the summer ...Expand for more
when they were at home. She was amazed that anyone would stay in Nacogdoches in the summer time.
Except for our current drought, we are nestled into a beautiful forest in a great college town with great medical services, and plenty of golf, sports and college music and drama.
Marge has a kiln in the studio for her china painting. I am still doing some consulting and writing. I'm also enjoying sports, photography, and feeding the birds. We go to the Houston Ballet and I can go shooting at a friendâÂÂs ranch nearby. We are settling into a new life style, praying for continued good health and that the economy will recover someday.
I'm looking forward to interacting with my classmates and friends from the past.
See ya'.
