Latest update: July 15, 2011 I finally graduated "summa cum laude" with a degree in English Literature. I have had a poem published and an article in an international literary journal. These later years have been really nice, as I am accomplishing things I never would have dreamed I could finish!!! My two sisters flew out from CA to see me graduate. Also attending were my daughter, Erin, her husband, Michael, and my two grandbabies, Sebastian and Benjamin. My husband and sister- and brother-in-law attended also. After graduation, I went with my two sisters to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. We were in D.C. 1 1/2 days when we received a call that my dad was failing and we should hurry to get to OR. On May 31, my dad lost his life to Parkinson's disease. Now I am back at King's working in Conference & Event Services. I have more poems roaming around in my head and I hope to publish a collection of poems one day. Take care - have a wonderful summer! Vicki Life Since graduation, I have had many new adventures in life. My best event in my life was having my daughter. Second came with my two grandsons who are 6 and 3. I never thought I would be a grandma - they call me Nonie. Unfortunately, at the moment they live in Konstanz, Germany - Erin's (my daughter) husband is working his PhD at the University Konstanz. As for me, I worked 15 years at Cal Poly Pomona. In 1994, I moved to Massachusetts - approximately 12 miles from Boston. I sure do love it there. I was married and then in 1999 we moved to Tunkhannock, PA - a very small northeastern town. Our idea of a traffic jam is when a deer is standing in the middle of the road and there are two cars lined up waiting for it to move! We never seem to lack in nature here. We see bald eagles daily, blue herron, all kinds of song birds that we didn't ha...Expand for more
