Victoria's Story
I graduated in 1968, and stayed in the east bay until 1974 when I moved to Lake County, Ca. I began working at the Sheriff's Department in 1974 and retired 30 years later. During my career at the SO I was a clerk, dispatcher, correctional officer, 911 supervisor, and civil division manager. I met my husband, Ron in 1978. He also worked at the S.O..
We were together until his demise in 2006. We had no children, only german shepherds. o do here; we have lots of concerts (Konocti Harbor Inn) and water activities available. It has been an ideal area. I just bought a 1991 Cad Deville with the gold package and it is unbelievable. It is a beautiful classic car. For eight months last year, my house was being remodeled and now this spring/summer I am going to redo the yards. I live in a rural neighborhood and have a large lot behind the house for expansion, gardening, and maybe to put a swimming pool on. We have very hot summers.
I liked living in San Leandro and the east bay, but I am so glad that I moved north. It is still a busy life, but it's just a quieter type of life. We still only have a Kmart and a Walmart here. I go to Santa Rosa if I want to shop, and every December I meet with friends in S.F. and we play tourist. I guess there is more that I like than dislike. I am a very happy and blessed person.
