Victoria's Story
Victoria is from Stockton, California. She is married. Her schools include Franklin High School.. Was married in 1967. That only lasted 4 years. Remarried in 1973 to an Air Force man named Leslie Young. Wonderful man. We have been married for 41 years and counting. We have 2 children a boy and a girl.
We have spent 3 years in Madrid Spain at Torijon Air Force Base and that was that was great. Our son was born there and our daughter was made there only. When we came back to to the United States we move Florida's Elgin Air Force Base. Our daughter was born there. We stayed there for over 3 years. When he got orders to go to Korea for a year the kids and I moved back to Stockton. We then moved to Beale Air Force Base in northern California. That was like staying home.Then we moved on to Minot Air Force Base inNorth Dakota. I can tell you why not Minot FREEZING is the reason. Thirty 35 below is really cold. He retired at Minot AFB. bout 2 years. He job moved him to Lancaster Ca. This was our longest stay any where about 10 years.
The company moved us to a place I never wanted to go Oklahoma City. We have been here now for15 years. Yes I am an Okie now. We were here for only 10 months and we lost our house to a F 5 tornado (that is the max they are rated) Never in my life did I think Mother Earth would blow everything away everything we had. I expected the ground to shake rattle and roll and everything fall down, after all I am from California where we have earthquakes. In Landcaster we lived 6 miles for the the earthquake fault everyone is so worried about. We have now rebuilt our home and every spring we worry about another tornado. The tornados have come and danced around us but we have not had to put up with another tornado. He has retired now and we were moving back to the west "Nevada". No tornadoes and earthquakes sounded good to me. We haven't moved yet because I watch my grandson now. Some day I will make it that direction.
