Vincent's Story
I married a wonderful girl (Gaytonne Marie)from Oswego 2 years after I graduated. I have been in the nuclear industry since the late 1970s. Daughter Abby works for the DOJ in Arkansas and son Vince works for SONY in San Diego. We moved to Oceanside, CA in 1991. I retired from the training department at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).
I lost my wife to ovarian cancer in July 2008. She and I fought the cancer for four years. I continued to work but took her to nearly every appointment, CAT scan, MRI and ch...Expand for more
emotherapy. I was her main care giver, chef, house cleaner, and support. This was the toughest job of my life. It drained us both. But I would do it all over again.
I have also been an ACS volunteer for 5 years.
I am now picking up the remaining pieces of my life and trying to cope with the loss.I am also trying to recover my health and I have lost some #.
I am dating again and find that it is a quite different today. The thought of being alone from now on does not appeal to me.
