Vincent's Story
Life
The photo shows me and my son, Chad (named for the country in north central Africa). He's 14 years old and one fantastic running back! But, most importantly, he is a good, kind and just human being!
I've been divorced about five years now. I graduated from Tougaloo College in 1983 with a degree in English/Journalism. Most of my career has been in Broadcast Production/Public Relations & Marketing. I also write & direct independent films and act in commercials and feature films. One of my films won 2nd place at the American Film Institute in Hollywood a few years ago. My new company is called PHILM PHACTORY. Our main focus is producing films for children, specifically showing positive images of black children....Expand for more
My son is my inspiration for this. When he was younger and I was newly divorced, during that precious little time I had with him every other weekend, I could never find films in the video stores that showed little black kids in a positive light. There were always the one or two "token" black kids in the Barney videos and that was all. After that it was just "thuggin' & druggin'." That is not the totality of the black experience. It certainly is not image of black life I want to show to my child. Other than that, we are working to produce regional and national commercials.
