Virgil's Story
Okay in several words or less here is rundown of what I have been doing in the last thirty years. One year at The University of Alabama where they decided I was not the kind of student they wanted. Something about going to class and passing test. In my defense that was not my main priority. I did however graduate from Jacksonville State in December 1982. Four years!
I went to work in Birmingham for about a year after college but did not set the woods on fire. I took a job traveling after that for a couple of years. I drove 80 thousand mile, flew 60 thousand each year and spent 38 nights in my own bed. (not the good kind of not being in your own bed) At one time there was not a single lumber yard I had not been in or a single highway in the five southeatern states I had not been on.
In Febuary 1986 me and Marisa Able loaded up and moved to Captiva Island Florida. I was there off and on until 1991. I lived in Lake Ta...Expand for more
hoo California for about nine months and Atlanta Ga. for a bout six during this time but I kept going back to Captiva. It was a wonderful place. The hurricane in 2002 riped it apart.
For those who do not know Marisa passed away with cancer. It crushed me.
I moved back to Birmingham in 1991 and worked for Alagasco for three years. Since 1994 I have worked either bartending or working for myself in sales. I currently work for the Country Club of Birmingham. I love working there.
I have been to at least one Hokes Bluff football game since I graduated in 1978. I still go back to the Bluff about once a month. Mom and dad still live there.
I have no kids and have never been married. I have a girlfriend of 15 years who lives 1800 miles and two countries away. We talk about 5 times a year. So over all I am a very happy guy.
Well I still have over 18,000 characters remaining to write this but I think I will stop.
Bye
