Virginia's Story
It's been a long time since my cheerleading days at BHS, yet in some ways it seems like yesterday. After graduation, I attended Bob Jones University, graduating in 1973 with a BS in elementary education. I met Jerry Banks and married him in June of 73. We have 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys. The older 5 are married, and the last two are in college--a senior and a sophomore. We also have 8 grandchildren with #9 due in the fall and #10 in the spring. ichigan where we helped to start Christian schools. In 1983 we moved to Delaware where we taught for 16 years. Then we moved back to Florida. We were in Lakeland for 4 years and have been living in beautiful Ocala for the last 5 years. This will be my 37th year of teaching. I also coached volleyball and cheerleading for several years. When I'm not in the classroom I am busy serving in my church especially in the area of music. I enjoy reading, writing, relaxing in the pool, spending time with my family, and occasionally a trip to the Orlando theme parks.
