When I graduated from Artesia High in 1965, I went to work for the Long Beach Naval Base and started going to Cerritos College part time. I got an accounting degree and became a CPA for H & R Block in Long Beach. I worked for them until I moved to Hawaii in 1972 where I lived for about 5 years. I came back home, got married and had 1 child, a girl. Mainly worked as a CPA for about 8 more years when I then moved to San Diego with my family until my husband got out of the Navy in 1980. Moved back to Long Beach where we bought our first home. My husband worked at Memorial Hospital for several years and I went back to work for H & R Block again for another 6 years. I then started my own business and started selling my merchandise at Renaissance Faires around California. It was great traveling from City to City and dressing up in Period Clothing on the weekends.
