Virginia's Story
After grad, worked as a secretary & got married at 19 1/2. Forced to quit job at 20 1/2 when 6 months pregnant (how archaic!) Had a son August '71, then a daughter Dec. '72. Stay-at-home mom until divorce when kids were 5 & 6. Worked full time for a company for 30 years, 1st as a secretary, then a Convention Manager. third, I went part-time (at the 30-yr company), and specialized in proofreading technical documents. Now I do proofing/editing from home. Live on a relatively small lake far north of Chicago. Big enuf for water skiing, speedboats & such, and swimming. My daughter has one son, 21 mos, my older son has a daughter, 7 mos. So I'm rather new to the Grandma scene.
