Virginia's Story
After high school I started college, promptly dropped out, got married, had two kids, & got divorced. Got remarried & had another kid. Worked my way through the business world & worked as a paralegal, all total about 13 years. Took courses at night all along the way. In 2004, I'd had enough of the corporate life, quit working & went back to school full time, got my degree, & now I teach advanced freshman English at Little Rock Central High School. Doing what I always wanted & loving it. I'm working (on & off) on my M.A.
Been married for going on 15 years now. My oldest son is about to graduate from high school. My daughter is 16 and is a sophomore at Central. My youngest son is almost 13 and will start Central next year.
A few years ago we bought a house and a little land out in the middle of nowhere. I have 3 dogs, 1 rabbit, a peacock & a peahen,...Expand for more
a dozen guineas, & an ever changing number of chickens. We spend every possible minute we can on our sailboat camping on Lake Ouachita. Life is good!
I will probably not be able to attend the 20 year reunion, as I will be in China and then Japan the entire month of June. It's a teacher cultural exchange program with a Chinese school, and I'll be traveling all over China seeing different regions of the country. The trip to Japan is just a side trip for fun. I'm very excited, to say the least.
If the reunion is after I get back, who knows, maybe I'll get to see some of you guys again. The only person I keep up with anymore is Caro (Dawson) Wilding, my best friend who up & moved all the way across the country, & I'll never get over it! :) At least I get to see her a few times a year. If I don't make it to the reunion, have fun & drink several for me!
