Vivian's Story
Hello to all of Vivian's GCVI classmates and friends. I am very sorry to let you know that Vivian passed from this world in August 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Vivian had opened a profile on Classmates several years prior, but it has taken me until now to post this sad update on her behalf.
As you likely all know and remember, Vivian was an out-going, intelligent, energetic, creative, compassionate person, in short she was 'vivacious'. I can let you know that these wonderful aspects of her personality stayed with her throughout her life.
For the 24 years we were together, Vivian would never allow herself to be defined by the circumstances or her life and that included both good ones and challenging ones. She possessed an awareness that (in Vivian's own words) she was an actor on the stage, acting a...Expand for more
part, ie that she was someone other than the part itself. Similarly when Vivian was suffering from the symptoms of cancer and cancer treatments she remained her own person, and she refused to be defined by what she was experiencing at the time. Even during that terrible time Vivian's best qualities showed through: patience, compassion, trust, courage, a positive outlook.
This was the essence of Vivian Farfaras and those of you who knew her will surely agree that I have described her well. Vivian was her own person both then and through all the years we were together.
Vivian always fondly remembered her school years and her friends at GCVI. She especially enjoyed the school reunion back around 2004?
Vivian would be very proud today of our sons Phillip and Chris who have also attended GCVI.
