Vivian's Story
Life
I have lived in Amherst County for three years now with my youngest daughter, a rising 8th grader at AMS, my boyfriend of 10 years, my 2 horses, 3 dogs, and 1 cat. My oldest daughter graduated PMHS in 2004 and DSLCC in 2006. My middle daughter graduated PMHS in 2006 and will begin DSLCC in a few days. I am SOOO proud of all my girls!
Scleroderma still limits my ability to hold a full-time job, but gardening, drawing, riding, and keeping the books for my boyfriends business keep me pretty busy.
I love living here in the country where I can sit on the deck at night and almost touch the stars! (I'm old, right?!!!)
I don't see a lot of my friends from high school now but the memories are still there. I want to thank each of you for those!! I consider myself truly fortunate to have had the friends that I did. I love you all and wish you a very happy life!!

School
My favorite teachers at PMHS were Preston Evans and Preston Williams! Mrs. Teague and Mrs. Dove will always be very special also. I enjoyed art and band most.Chemistry and any of chick crawford's classes were at the bottom of my list. i...Expand for more
'll never forget being co-captain of the 1 and 13 volleyball team or never being able to run from the school down to the track without stopping at my grandmothers for food! I miss all my great classmates including my best friends-Joan B.(all those notes on the biology tables), Kem H.,Becky G.,and Beth G.(how many keydets could we fit in my mothers volare?),and Patricia P.(yes, all those girls who picked on us DID gain 300 pounds after high school!)There were great band trips and at the end-David Floyd's graduation speach. I miss it all!
My two years at Va Tech were spent living with sheep farmers, studying underwater basketweaving! My major was fashion merchandising-unfortunately through the college of home economics-enough said! I left tech after 2 years, waitressed for 11 years, honing my perspective on people to a fine art. After college I married a local boy, had 2 daughters, got divorced, had another daughter, became disabled in 1994,and in 1996 began my struggling career as a freelance artist. My life's not all I thought it would be but I have great kids and a happy life. In the end, who could ask for more?
