Wallace's Story
I spent six years in the Army Reserve as a drill instructor, while working for General Electric and Black & Decker for nearly 28 years. Also during that time I joined a local Gospel group, the Harbor Light Singers, and have been with them for over 40 years. After leaving Black & Decker I returned to school and earned a degree in Business Administration and also studied through Southeastern Seminary Extension after being called to ministry. m 1995 until recently, and authored a nationally published book on Randolph County Confederate soldiers in 2004. I have also self-published several books on local history. For 17 years I was employed at Randolph Health in Asheboro, in the Supply Chain Dept. I retired in July of 2018.
I married Sandy Hiatt of Coleridge NC in 1971, and have two daughters, one a Nurse, the other a school Guidance Counselor. Between them we have six grandchildren. We live in Coleridge, NC.
