Well, since I haven't bothered to update this in about 16 years: After graduation, headed off to URI with the idea of becoming a marine biologist. While there, however, I got involved with the Kingston Volunteer Fire Dept. where I was active from '71 to '81 and lived full-time in the station for 5 years. It was there that I discovered what my true calling was, and although I went ahead and finished my degree, I began applying and testing for full time fire depts. North Kingstown picked me up in '79;. Made Lt. in '86, Capt. in '01, and Deputy Chief in '08. Also served in a parallel, part-time position as a fire inspector for 9 yrs and as Acting Fire Marshal for a few months after my old boss in the Fire Prev. Bureau went out on a medical.
