Walter's Story

Life Left Japan in June'68, with great send-off and it's been an adventure ever since. Landed smack in the middle of the summer of love, though Ole Miss was a little behind the times. The first girl I met said "hi" in six syllables....even Darcy couldn't do that and I was sunk! Had Army scholarship, so was gung-ho ROTC, in spite of Vietnam, but dropped out after lottery in fall of '69. Kinda went of the deep end, but did graduate(barely) with BS in biology and headed to beach and grad schoo...Expand for more
l in marine biology. We had great time until grants ran out after three semesters,so did internship in Medical Technology in Tuscaloosa,Alabama, where I met my wife, Liz. We've been married 30 years, have two great kids and a granddaughter! We've lived and worked in the southeast, now living in Asheville, North Carolina. We love to travel and have been on several volunteer building team trips to Caribbean and Central America. It would be great to see or at least hear from everyone again!!
