Walter's Story
My life in three minutes or less. OK, I graduated ALJ in 1969, went to Livingston College at Rutgers University until 1973 where I started the college radio station, but left before graduating. Took a succession of jobs in the music biz until landing a job with the group Genesis and Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins from 1977-1980, left to startup a couple of indie record labels, one of which later sold to Sony. Worked as lecture booking agent for the likes of Henny Youngman, Hunter S. Thompson, Timothy Leary, G. Gordon Liddy for about 18 months. hich eventually included Pantera, White Zombie, Anthrax, Ministry, Winger, many more and was co-founder of Concrete Marketing which marketed and promoted nearly every big hard rock act in the world and held the Foundations Forum hard rock and heavy metal conventions in Los Angeles from 1988 to 1996 or so (although I sold the marketing company in 1991) Retired from the music biz in 2003 and shut down Concrete Management, went back to Rutgers to finish and graduate with my BA in Journalism (cum laude) and have been writing and shooting photography for the Courier News in Somerville since 2005. Full time staff writer since Oct. 2007, where I remain.
