Walter's Story
Life --
Being from a Navy family, I only was in Silver Spring for three years. Salem (WV) College, Professional Boy Scouting, and then many years as a DSM for two companies covering NYS before starting my own publishing business. Married, 3 kids, 2 adopted (from Russia) grand kids fill out a normal life. Now I'm trying to refurbish our 200 year old house in the center of the Finger Lakes of NY plus we have a retirement home in Traphill, NC. Genealogists for Olmstea)ds and searching for those at Sampson AFB for the reunion that Mary and I host each year fills our spare time.
College memories --

Life long friends -- Gordon Gray and John Isabelle; we have shared New Years eve together with wives and children for over fortyyears.
Married Mary Cartwright (who is the Bolivar (NY) HS '59 grad) two weeks after she graduated Salem Aug '62. We have three children and now two (adopted in Russia) grandchildren.
Never thought how important English classes would be in my life back then but as s local history and genealogical book publisher those skills were used daily. We closed that business in 2012.
Haven't been back to Salem since the fall of 1962. Wish the college alumni address list was on their website as I would use it to contact others who stir pleasant memories of those carefree days. Did attend an AHF reunion a couple of years back and a HS class reunion -- interesting meeting others who were in the same schools so many years ago.
