Katherine's Story
Life
I went to Ball State Freshman year - even though I planned to go to IU- was enrolled in IU..........long story. I transferred to IU after my Freshman year - even though I really liked Ball State. I triple majored and graduated with degrees in Biology, Political Science (Environmental Law), SPEA (School of Public and Environmental Affairs- Environmental Management). I graduated in 1992.
I have lived in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago + Indianapolis, Bloomington and now Greenfield. I came back to Indiana to take care of my parents.
I have only worked in the Environmental Management field. I have never worked in Public Policy or for a governmental agency until 2004, however. I currently am working Hancock County - running the Solid Waste Management District. It was a serious pay cut from previous positions, but I live 3 blocks from where I work, and it lets me take care of my Mom. It's really a blast. You would not believe the stuff I get paid to do. I have always had fun working, but this job is really a blast!

ave an 18 1/2 year old Abyssinian Cat, Rika, and a 14 1/2 year old one, Ricochet. I have two bunnies - Buzzsaw Tucker and Al Gore AKA Pretty Boy Liberace. I have two twenty year old cockatiels Sonny and C.O. I have two horses, both Trakehners. A 5 year old and a 2 year old. Stormy Weather and MiMi. Stormy is first level dressage and MiMi is too young to break to ride. I think Dressage will be her forte!
I ride and train with Ellin Daum, a 22 year devotee of Jean Claude Racinet- and the French Saumur method of Dressage. I am very serious about my sport, and you can find me training on most days.
I also love lifting weights - and have recently lost a lot weight. I still weigh 11 pounds more than when I graduated from High School, however. I am working on it!
I started law school last fall.......and am taking a break this semester. It's fun, but I needed to spend my time doing some other things and I am not in a hurry to graduate.
I have been contemplating marriage, recenty. But, I think my life is pretty perfect the way it is right now! So, we will see.......
