Wanda's Story
Life
I've been working forever in the law enforcement field and have recently retired to care for my husband who is mentally disabled due to a head injury (Kim Sears 1975 Greencastle High). I collect and restore antique furniture, love photography, music, gardening and landscaping. The joy in my life are my grandchildren. Hayley is thirteen years old, Jaila is five years old, Sydney is three years old and little Jesse Lee Jr. is 4 months. My husband of thirty-four years is a retired marine engineer and is involved as much as he can be in all of my projects. I'm also a part time real estate agent with Century 21 Nachman and have been for years now. We have two sons, the oldest one is a law enforcement officer and his wife is an artist, graphic designer and in medical school. e is busy now, caring for my husband who, unfortunately, has deteriorating health and my mother who has dementia and living with me since 2007.
School
I would do it all over again in a minute! I loved school; didn't pay much attention to it at the time however. Looking back, it was wonderful being involved in drama and all the good things school had to offer. My biggest inspiration at that time was my English teacher, Joyce Swindell. She created what I am today involving the English language. I was a legal proof reader in the law enforcement field, one of many daily managerial jobs that I enjoyed. I think of Mrs. Swindell often, especially when I had the daunting task of proofing documents and correcting the spelling and punctuation of so many people where I used to work. I will continue to try to enjoy life as much as possible however, heartache is on the horizon and I will approach it with the reality that it is.
