Wanda's Story
Moved to Portland, OR almost right out of high school. And have spent a good part of the last 29 years in this area. Work took me to Dallas TX for about 5 years, but I moved back in 2004. I guess the Northwest is just where my heart is.
For a career, I spent most of it working for a major Telecommunications Corp. Started in Operations, and when I retired from there in 2004 I had 24 years, with 20 of them as management. They were very good to me and through a Tuition Reimbursement program, I managed to finally get my masters in Business Administration with a minor in finance. I now work as a cost consultant and enjoy my job very much.
I have 3 beautiful children, one son and two daughters, and they are all grown, but still the reason I put my feet on the floor every morning. I also have two beautiful grand children, one grand daughter and one grand son, and they are the light of my life. I had the good fortune to have known and married my best friend, soul mate and my hero. We were married in August of 1980 and I lost him in March of 2004 at the age of 43...Expand for more
to cancer. He was gone way too soon, but I had more in our short time together than most people ever find in a lifetime, I was so very lucky and he is missed by me and my children and grandchildren more than words can say.
In my spare time I like to garden and have over an acre of land to dig in the dirt. I enjoy travelling and go as often as I can. My current favorite place to go is Lake Tahoe, but I also get back to Texas quite frequently as that is where my parents and one of my children and my grandchildren call home. I love sports, particularly Nascar, and try to get to a different race track every year. I have built quite the racing resume and am looking forward to more trips in the future. I love country music, and like to take in a concert when they come to our part of the country, especially in the summertime with some of the beautiful outdoor venues in the area.
That's about it for me. I look forward to watching my grand children grow and thrive, and maybe someday soon I will slow down a bit and spend alot more time watching them do just that.
