Wanda's Story
Just a quick note to let all of my pals and friends of those good old days whats been happening with me. Well since graduation, I got married, had 2 sons now ages 38 and 36. They live in Tennessee and Texas and I really dont see them like I would like to.
Since 1984 I remarried a great man named Carlos Cruz who was a Marine at the time. He is now working for the federal government at the marine base here in Albany with almost 30= years of seniority. He is a really good man and as we all know they are hard to find.
Ive been fighting breast cancer since 2008, and its HER2 positive which is the most deadliest form that there is. I've had chemo and radiation lsot all my beautiful hair and went completely bald. arch 2009. I was taking care of everything for her. It is so damned hard to live through both her death and my cancer which has now come back and is in both of my breasts instead of one. I am in stage 4. I told the docs that I was not going to go through any more chemo or radiation as it didnt do me any good the first time.
My dad died the week before fathers day in 1999 and my mom died about 6 months later of brain cancer. I've had a very rough life since I left Summerville.
